Jose Luis Kortright Scholarship
The Jose Luis Kortright Scholarship was established by Lydia, Ken, Monica, Frank, Jose, David, Larry, Dennis, and Erik in honor of their husband and father.
The foundation honors his passion for family, service, and commitment to the community. The Scholarship is need-based and helps support the financial need of student-athletes who would like to participate in athletic travel or after-school programming.
Applicants are selected through a process led by the Kortright family. Once awarded, the Scholarship will support the chosen applicant’s choice of athletic travel or after-school program participation fee. Student-athletes may apply annually as long as they uphold the standards of academic performance and community membership outlined by The Kortright Kares Foundation. The Scholarship will be granted annually.
The Scholarship recipients will be selected annually based on an application and essay submitted student athletes must meet the following criteria:
Consistent academic performance, “Always do your best”.
Proven team player who is engaged in school and athletics with a love of learning and positive can-do
attitude.
Demonstrated financial need.
